Dooblee is a video editor that runs on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no profile and no advertising. We do not operate a user database, and we cannot see your videos.
The short version. Your footage is never uploaded. Two things are sent away to be processed, and only while you are processing a recording: the audio of that recording, so your words can be turned into text, and that text, so proper names can be corrected and your subtitles translated. Nothing else leaves the device. We keep no copy of either.

Both requests are made only when you process a recording or add a subtitle language. There is no background uploading, and nothing is sent when the app is merely open. If you never pick a video, nothing ever leaves the phone.
Requests may be relayed through a server operated by us, which exists so that the app does not have to carry a provider key and so that we can count usage against a subscription. That relay forwards the request, returns the answer, and stores counts and token numbers only — never your audio, never your text.
The transcription and text steps are performed by OpenAI, acting as a data processor on our instructions, under the OpenAI API terms. Under those terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models, and API inputs and outputs may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before being removed. The details are on OpenAI's API data privacy page, alongside the OpenAI privacy policy. Data may be processed in the United States.
We keep no copy of your audio, your text or your video. The audio and text are held only for the lifetime of the request that processes them; our processor may hold them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, as described above, and then removes them. The answers are cached on your phone, so that reopening a project does not pay to transcribe or translate it again; that cache is part of the app's storage and is removed when you delete the project or the app.
Dooblee is a video editing tool for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase on your behalf — everything the app knows about you is on your own device, and deleting the app deletes it. If you are in the EU or UK and want to exercise a data-protection right, or you simply have a question about any of the above, write to us and we will answer.
If we change what the app sends, or who processes it, we will update this page and the date at the top of it before the change ships.
