How Dooblee works

1. Record one long video, talking straight through it. Say a line as many times as you need, then move on to the next one.
2. Pick it in Dooblee. The app extracts the audio, has it transcribed, and cuts the recording where you actually paused or started a line again.
3. Choose. Swipe sideways between lines, up and down between your attempts at the same line, and tap the tick on the one you want.
4. Export. The finished clip is assembled with the pauses removed, your chosen versions joined, and the subtitles burned into the picture. It is saved to your photo library, ready to post.

Common questions

It asks for photo-library access. Why?

Because the app works on video you already have, and it saves the finished clip back to your library. Access to selected videos only is enough — but if you pick "selected", a clip you have not selected cannot be opened, so use the app's own picker when you add more footage.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. Only the audio track and the text of what you said are sent away to be processed. The video itself never leaves your phone. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.

Does it work offline?

The transcription and the translation need an internet connection. Everything else — choosing, trimming, previewing, rendering and exporting — works offline. A project you have already processed reopens without going online again.

A name or a brand came out wrong in the subtitles.

The app already runs a correction pass over the transcript for exactly this, but speech recognition still misses unusual names. Check the subtitles before you publish, and tell us the word it got wrong — that feedback is useful.

It found too many lines, or too few.

Settings has the thresholds the cutting uses, and each line's pause edits can be adjusted by hand in the editor — the brackets in the transport bar. You can also switch pause cutting off for a single line.

My subtitles sit over the TikTok or Reels interface.

Settings → Platform. The default preset keeps the subtitle block clear of the caption area used by TikTok, Reels and Shorts. The zone guides flash briefly in the editor so you can see where that is.

Which languages can it subtitle?

The spoken language is detected, and you can add up to two translated subtitle lines underneath it, in any of the app's languages. The app's interface itself is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese and Chinese, and follows your phone unless you change it in Settings.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a project in the app to remove it and everything it stored, or delete the app to remove all of it. We hold nothing on a server, so there is nothing to ask us to erase.

Reporting a problem

If something failed — an export that produced nothing, a recording it refused to read, a crash — send us the app version, your device and iOS version, roughly how long the recording was, and what you had just done. If you can reproduce it, say how.
